What it is
Objective-First Architecture™ is the method DJ uses in collaboration and building to prevent implementation from outrunning understanding. It is a focused practice within Architectural Thinking: clarify what you are genuinely trying to accomplish before choosing or optimizing a solution.
Why it exists
People are often quick to solve the problem as first described. But an elegant answer to the wrong objective is still the wrong answer. This method creates room to examine the destination, assumptions, constraints, and meaning of success before committing to a path.
What makes it different
Architectural Thinking looks broadly at the structures producing an outcome. Objective-First Architecture™ begins with one specific part of that structure—the objective—and uses it to orient the decisions that follow. Objectives may still change as understanding grows.
Where it is now
This is the Studio’s maintained introduction to the method. It establishes the first move and the need to examine objectives, assumptions, constraints, and success before architecture begins. A more detailed repeatable grammar remains under definition. Its usefulness does not make every claim scientifically true, and the method does not grant evidence or warrant to itself.
